British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the boxing community offered sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
