David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
