FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
