Mohamed Salah Issues Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his televised remarks.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The manager has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. Jones believes the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and on a positive run.”
